The Lithuanian Folk Art Institute
is hosting a full day of folk art workshops in September 2024.

This is beginner friendly and will be a series of live in person sessions (in english) with our folk art experts.

Morning Session
9am-12:30am (eastern time)
Make traditional straw
Christmas ornaments & tapestry art piece.

Afternoon Session
1:30pm-5pm (eastern time)
Make a woven sash using a traditional weaving
technique & repurpose old amber jewelry for a modern look.

Hours

There will be 4 sessions throughout the day. Folk Art workshops are from 9:00am – 5:00pm with a light lunch included with all-day registration.

What to bring

Some materials are included. We will be emailing you approximately two weeks before the workshops begin to remind you about any items that you need to bring.

Sessions & Cost

$50.00 (CAD) – $90.00 (CAD)

Morning Sessions

Session A | 9am-10:30am | Siaudinukai – Make traditional straw Christmas ornaments (may include special bird/angel ornaments.)
Session B | 10:30am-12:30am  | Gobelenas (tapestry) – Make a small tapestry art piece.

Light lunch | 12:30pm – 1:15pm

Afternoon Sessions

Session C | 1:30pm-3:00pm | Weaving – Juostos (sash) – Make a woven sash using a traditional weaving technique.
Session D | 3:00pm-5:00pm | Upscale Your Amber – Repurpose old amber jewelry for a modern look.

What’s not included

We can not provide any travel expenses or any accommodations to attend our workshops. If you would like suggestions for lodging, please refer to google maps or send us a message. We will try our best to accomadate you.
