The LTFAI invites members and friends to join us for an engaging workshop on karpiniai, the traditional Lithuanian folk art of paper cutting.
Paper cutting has long been part of Lithuanian folk life, used as a form of home decoration and artistic expression. Over time, it has developed into both a traditional craft and a detailed art form, with artists creating intricate works that reflect cultural motifs, creativity, and skill.
In this workshop, participants will create a decorative paper-cut art piece that will be mounted on a background so it can be framed or displayed as is. Gabrielle Valevicius will introduce the techniques used to make a more detailed paper cutting and will share tips and tricks for creating more complex patterns in future projects.
Whether you are a craft enthusiast, a supporter of Lithuanian heritage, or simply curious about traditional folk art, this event offers a creative and enriching experience for all.
